In the speech that President Obama is set to deliver tomorrow to America’s schoolchildren, a paragraph caught our attention:

It’s the story of students who sat where you sit 250 years ago, and went on to wage a revolution and found this nation. Students who sat where you sit 75 years ago who overcame a Depression and won a world war; who fought for civil rights and put a man on the moon. Students who sat where you sit 20 years ago who founded Google, Twitter and Facebook and changed the way we communicate with each other.

Congrats to Larry, Sergey, Mark and Jack for getting some love from POTUS!

Obama is set to deliver the remarks in Arlington, Va., at 12 p.m. EDT.

In the article, New Media Director Macon Phillips delineates between WhiteHouse.gov, change.gov and BarackObama.com.

“WhiteHouse.gov,” Phillips said, “is not like BarackObama.com or Change.gov. We’re not running a campaign anymore. To us here, WhiteHouse.gov is not just a Web site. The new programs that we will roll out are more than just URLs. They are new ways to engage with citizens. Stay tuned.”

Who else is quoted in the article? Ellen Miller (@EllnMllr) of the Sunlight Foundation, who has read Social Government!

Disclosure: I currently intern for a division of The Washington Post Company.
